My name is Carolina (pronounced "Carol-EE-na"), and I'm the artist, jeweler, and person behind Strawberry Lightning. Welcome.

I believe the way we adorn ourselves — and the things we choose to surround ourselves with — is an act of self-expression, and an opportunity for authenticity. It's how we communicate to the world who we are, what communities we belong to, and it's one way we attract others like us into our space.

I also believe it's an act of magick, manifestation, alignment--whatever word resonates with you. Our internal and external worlds are in constant relationship. We can leverage our external world to move the needle on the internal, or to reinforce a direction we're already heading in. In fact, I think it's really hard to shift our internal world WITHOUT shifting the external. (Ever noticed the power of a new haircut?)

For me, building this business has always been about manifesting authenticity and boldness in my own life — first through jewelry, and now through art too. 

We all have boxes people try to put us into. As a Latina woman who's also queer, I'm not nearly "feminine enough." I should be quieter, more submissive, probably grow my hair longer. ;) As the child of immigrants, I was also raised to with only 2 career options: Doctor or Lawyer. I chose neither.

With this business, I say — f*ck the boxes. Let's make our own weird, amorphous shapes instead, and celebrate each other exactly as we are.
